Russia in Focus: the Seminar on the Russian PPI Market Opportunities was held in Lucca, Italy
On October 10, 2019 in Lucca, Italy, PAP-FOR held a seminar "Russia in Focus: Business Opportunities for the Equipment Producers" dedicated to the Italian-Russian cooperation in the pulp and paper industry (PPI).
Lucca, the event location, was chosen due to its role in the European tissue paper production: it takes the first rank bringing 24% of the the total European market volume.
Over 140 PPI producers and converters are located in the region producing 9 mln tons of paper and board per year. Lucca also host representative offices of the major suppliers of equipment and technologies for the pulp and paper production.
The opportunities for cooperation between Russian and Italian business in the field of pulp and paper industry was the seminar's main topic.
Olga Strakhova, representative of Italian-Russian Chamber of Commerce, introduced the main spheres of cooperation between Russia and Italy including the industrial projects.
The seminar participants learned about the factors influencing the PPI in Russia, current production volume, government support measures, as well as the prospects for international suppliers of equipment and technologies in the Russian market.
Alexander Kagan, Business Development Director at Syktyvkar Tissue Group, presented a keynote report on the tissue papers and products market in Russia. The seminar attendees learned about the key trends influencing the local tissue market, its development dynamics and consumption forecast. Mr. Kagan presented an overview of the major tissue producers and their production facilities, as well the pulp and paper-making equipment in general.
Victoria Kirillova, PAP-FOR Show Director, announced the opportunities and special projects for the international companies that will be introduced at PAP-FOR in 2020, including the new programme for the Italian Pavilion participants.
The seminar organised by Reed Exhibitions and Italian-Russian Chamber of Commers, was attended by representatives of 12 companies - suppliers of equipment and technologies for tissue production that are going to continue cooperation with the Russian PPI market representatives at PAP-FOR on November 24–27, 2020.
